Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee report Prime Minister about the progress of key transport projects

The Prime Minister worked with the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City on the progress of implementing key traffic projects: Ring Road 3, Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai highway, T3 - Tan Son Nhat railway station and two urban railway lines: Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien and Ben Thanh - Tham Luong.

During his visit and working session in Ho Chi Minh City, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had an exchange with the City's leaders about the progress of implementing key construction and projects. Reporting to the Prime Minister, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai informed that the urban railway project No. 1 ( Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien ) reached 92.89% of the workload. This construction is expected to be completed in 2023.

The remaining urban railway line No. 2 (Ben Thanh–Tham Luong), Ho Chi Minh City is expected to start construction at the end of 2022 to be completed by the end of 2024. For the investment project to build Ring Road 3, the City is completing the procedures to approve the two first components of the project (construction and compensation) before November 30, 2022, striving to hand over 70% of the surface to start before June 30, 2023.

After listening to the report of Ho Chi Minh City and the other Departments, the Prime Minister gave directions for essential projects of the City, such as:

Firstly, regarding the Ring Road 3 project, the Prime Minister requested relevant Ministries and Departments to allocate enough capital for Ho Chi Minh City to implement the project according to the Government's Resolution. At the same time, he demanded to quickly complete the Ben Luc - Long Thanh highway to fully connect the traffic system passing through Ho Chi Minh City, Long An, Binh Duong, and Dong Nai.

For Urban Railway Line (metro) 1 and 2, the Prime Minister requested relevant Ministries and Departments to solve the problem of the loan procedures and handle the remaining issues. For the T3 - Tan Son Nhat station project, the Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Transport to set up a working group consisting of leaders of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Transport and a vice chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City... to solve problems and ensure the project stay on schedule. 

In addition, the Prime Minister also commented on the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai highway project. He requested the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the relevant Ministries and Departments to appraise the pre-feasibility study report and submit it to the Prime Minister for consideration in December 2022. The Prime Minister requested relevant Ministries, Departments and Ho Chi Minh City to solve difficulties and problems in investment projects completely. Any hesitation due to any reason is unacceptable.

The Prime Minister emphasized the focus on disbursing public investment capital. The Prime Minister noted the capital disbursement of 3 target programs, the economic recovery program and the medium-term public investment plan.
